psychologist & therapist
What do I do?
Psychological counselling & therapy
I focus primarily on individual therapy with adult clients. I am located in Prague, but I also offer sessions online. Professionally close to me are the topics of self-acceptance, relationships or traumatic experiences. However, I am grateful that I have the opportunity to encounter diverse life stories. Therapy is time for yourself, a safe creative space that can become a starting point for change.
Tough life period
Inner tension or anxiety can be a sign that we are in a seemingly hopeless situation. Other times, we don't even fully understand the causes of anxiety. Even in these situations, therapy can help.
Shame and guilt
Whether it's relationship problems, the aftermath of trauma or intimate relationship issues, reducing feelings of shame and guilt is an important step towards a happier life.
Self-development
Understanding your emotions, raising low self-esteem, or the desire to lead a more meaningful life. These are also good motives for seeking therapeutic support.
About me
I studied psychology at Masaryk University in Brno, Czechia. I spent a year of my studies at Western Washington University in the US. I was born in 1990 and I have been running a private therapy practice since 2022.
— How do I work? —
I see therapy as a free space in which I approach the client's stories with respect. I believe that positive change is facilitated by an atmosphere of a safe environment that allows us to be authentic. As the saying goes, change occurs when one becomes what he is, not when he tries to become what he is not. This is also why I try not to impose my own perspectives and ways of dealing with things. Essential is the path clients chooses by themselves, for themselves. Whether it's the way of coping with current difficulties or a step towards a more fulfilled and satisfying life. The therapeutic approach closest to my heart is Gestalt psychotherapy.
— About Gestalt psychotherapy —
Behind the somewhat incomprehensible name (Gestalt means "shape" or "whole" in German) lies a now common therapeutic approach that originated in the 1950s in the US and has continued to evolve ever since. A therapist acts in a non-judgemental guiding role with respect to what's important here and now. The emphasis is on awareness and understanding of one's own feelings, thoughts and body. A client finds answers in dialogue together with a therapist. Last but not least, Gestalt therapy is also a playful creative approach inspired by Eastern philosophy (e.g. mindfulness) or improvisitional theatre.
I am a candidate member of the Czech Association for Psychotherapy. In order to improve the quality of my services I work under the supervision of an another experienced therapist.
I have completed five years of therapeutic training at the Institute for Training in Gestalt Therapy in Prague (IVGT). In my work I follow the code of ethics of the European Association for Gestalt Therapy (EAGT).
I graduated from Masaryk University in Brno with a master's degree in psychology. I also spent one year of my studies at Western Washington University in the US, focusing on psychology and neuroscience.
— How do the sessions look like? —
In the initial sessions, we would prioritize what you would like to achieve in therapy. But it's also a space to clarify how our meetings could look like and how they could be useful to you. If you decide that a different style of work would be more appropriate for you, I can help you to find an another professional.
According to shared experience change in therapy comes with regular and long-term collaboration. This can be over several months or even years. The optimal frequency of meetings is once a week or once every two weeks. However, we all have different needs and pace, so do not hesitate to contact me even if you have different idea.
